‘Real Housewives of NYC’ Sonja Morgan confirms Bravo firings

The remaining cast is down to 3

Jill Zarin may have thought that she was in some sort of negotiations yesterday, but I guess she’s received figured out the truth today.

Four cast members from the hit reality show ‘Real Housewives of New York City’ were said to be getting their pink slips the other day and while Jill Zarin has been trying to deny that it’s true, Sonja Morgan has confirmed that it’s happening.

Sonja said that Jill Zarin, Kelly Bensimon, Alex McCord, and Cindy Barshop have all been fired from the show, and that she’s still having a hard time processing the news.  She said; “I really haven’t had time to digest it properly. My voicemail was filled up today…At first, I just thought it was the usual rumors.”

Morgan said she then spoke to her producer who told her that she is still part of the cast, but Zarin, McCord, Barshop, and Bensimon were out.  She said; “I’ve been invited back. I found out today last minute. I feel like all seven of us are stars in our own right We had the best season ever, the greatest ratings for New York Housewives ever. Whatever happens, everyone is a star in their own right. Obviously, first choice is always to be asked back and have a choice. You like to have a decision to make. But to not be asked back is sad, but nothing is final. You never say never!”

Sonja added that she knows her friends will rise above this and be just fine.  She said; “I have 100 percent faith in every girl that is on the show. We didn’t get here for any reason except we are all very talented and have a lot to share on screen. I’m going to reach out and see and make sure they are happy. I’m sure that everybody has plans. I’m not worried.”

The cast for the New York version of the Real Housewives was rather large compared to the others so cutting down the cast is probably a good thing.  It’s rather difficult to become involved in the ladies lives when the show is cramming seven different people into one episode.
