Mrs. Carter: A normal celebrity baby name? What’s next a high chair that doesn’t cost $12,000?
After hearing some of the off the wall baby names earlier this year like Kim Kardashian’s little bundle of joy named North West, it seems that more celebrity parents are starting to lean towards more traditional names. First, you had the practical and royal name George Alexander Louis for William and Kate, and while Kris Allen may not be a part of the royal family, he certain has a crown courtesy of winning “American Idol” season 8. His child with wife Katy was given a name is also equally practical: Oliver Neil Allen. While Oliver is not a first name that goes with everything, there’s something about “Oliver Allen” that has a pretty nice ring to it. Plus, he can go by “Ollie” if he hates his full name.
In a statement per Us Weekly, a rep for the singer confirmed the news that the Allen family had a new addition on July 30:
“Little Oliver Neil Allen is here! He’s 7 pounds, 7 ounces, 20 3/4 inches long. Mom and baby are doing great.”
Kris and Katy first revealed the news a little earlier this year, after the singer suffered an injury in a car accident that required surgery and for him to wear a cast through much of his Out Alive tour. Even with that, though, it did not stop him by any means from hitting the road and going out to perform in front of fans.
Now, Kris and his wife are about to realize just how busy the next few weeks of their lives are really going to be trying to get use to having a new addition, and someone that will not really care to interrupt him in the middle of a set with food requests, diaper changes or cuddle sessions.
