Last night was the media screening for the premiere episode of ‘Glee’ called ‘The Purple Piano Project’, which was directed by Eric Stolz and a few new details about this season were revealed.
Ryan Murphy gave a few details as to what fans can expect from this season of ‘Glee’ and how the winners from the ‘Glee Project’ are going to fit into the story.
Samuel Larsen will be a relative of Puck (Mark Salling) and will likely appear in “episode 10 or 11”.
Lindsey Pearce will be showing up in the first episode and will be singing “Anything Goes”. Ryan said that “The part had already been written” before he figured out that Lindsey would be the perfect person to play the role. She will be playing the leader of another singing group. Ryan said; “It was a little weird because we were shooting it before the final episode of The Glee Project aired, so we built that big conference hotel set on the stage and sort of cloaked her under a blanket — not actually, but we were nervous about that getting out. So we kept delaying it. Once we thought of that, I made the number bigger.”
Murphy went on to say that there’s potential to see more of Lindsey’s character and that she will probably be at sectionals for her second episode. He said; “One of my favorite moments in that episode. I love where she gets in Lea [Michele]‘s face. I believe people would love to see catfights between them onscreen between Lea and Lindsay.”
Damian McGuinty will be jumping into the season at episode four (which is currently shooting) with Adam Shankman directing the episode. Murphy said; “He is a foreign exchange student who is shacking up with Brittany and she of course believes he is to be a leprechaun with magical powers. On his first day, he was shoved into a locker 25 times, but without saying what the song is — his first take in his first song, the crew gave him a huge ovation. He did great with the acting,”
Ryan also mentioned the role that he has for Alex Newell, saying that he “will also be used sort of like Lindsay” and that he “will come in later” as the season progresses.
