‘So You Think You Can Dance Canada’ has been canceled

It’s been canceled

‘So You Think You Can Dance Canada’ has suffered the same fate as ‘Canadian Idol’ and the show has been canceled which is a little strange since the show had a pretty great fourth season.

Bell Media’s vice-president of communications, Scott Henderson confirmed that ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Canada has been canceled.  He said; “I can confirm that So You Think You Can Dance Canada has not been renewed for a fifth season.”

Shortly after, Bell Media released a statement about the cancellation, saying;

“The producers of ‘So You Think You Can Dance Canada’ created four seasons of groundbreaking, high-quality television, delivering on a creative level everything you could ask for as broadcaster, and ending on a creative high note. After four seasons and 92 episodes, CTV has decided to pursue other program strategies. This decision was made after careful consideration, including viewership and economic factors. We remain extremely proud of the legacy of ‘So You Think You Can Dance Canada’, including raising the profile of dance in this country.”

Unfortunately Canada has not had much luck with reality shows as they are competing against the success of the exact same show in America.  Hopefully one day they will find a way to allow Canadians to participate in a U.S. reality show other than ‘The Bachelor’ series.
