Actress Michelle Williams channels her inner Marilyn Monroe as she graces the cover of the October issue of Vogue magazine.
In the upcoming issue of Vogue, Michelle discusses her new film ‘My Week With Marilyn’ saying that it was an incredibly daunting task to try to play such an iconic character, but also said “as soon as I finished the script, I knew that I wanted to do it.”
Williams went on to explain how she prepared for the role, saying that she completely immersed herself into Marilyn’s life. She said;
“I’d go to bed every night with a stack of books next to me, and I’d fall asleep to movies of her. It was like when you were a kid and you’d put a book under your pillow hoping you’d get it by osmosis.”
Michelle shared with readers how she and her daughter Matilda worked through the grief of losing Heath Ledger. She said;
“Three years ago, it felt like we didn’t have anything, and now my life — our life — has kind of repaired itself. [His passing] changed how I see the world and how I interact on a daily basis. It’s changed the parent I am… It’s changed the kind of work that I really want to do. It’s become the lens through which I see life — that it’s all impermanent.”
Michelle’s issue of Vogue will be on newsstands on September 20, so make sure you pick up a copy!
