As a part of NFL Opening Weekend, there were a score of September 11 tributes both prior and during many of the games across the day. In the case of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ contest with the Tennessee Titans, we saw a giant American flag draped across the field before Charice Pempengco came out and performed a version of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Ultimately, Charice performed two songs over the course of the afternoon as she later came out to sing “God Bless America.” Not only did she hit every note during the performances, but she was welcomed with uproarious applause by the crowd.
In performing on September 11, Charice had a wonderful opportunity to endear herself to a wide-reaching audience in America — in particular those who watch football (who are far and away different than the sort of people who typically listen to pop music or watch “Glee“).
What did you think of Charice’s performance?
