After two years of dating, the New York Post is reporting that Emmy Rossum and Jacob Tyler Moore, who play the characters of Fiona Gallagher and Tony Markovich on the hit Showtime drama Shameless, have been broken up. While there is no reason given at this time for the split (likely because it’s really none of our business), Rossum was reportedly telling friends over the Fourth of July Weekend that she is single again, and the source claims that she did appear happy.
From the perspective of the show itself, we don’t imagine that it will have any real impact on production at all. Is it possible that there could be some natural awkwardness that comes out of this? Sure, but these people are professionals, and “Dexter” has already paved the way for Showtime dramas proving that you can have co-stars who get along just fine after a split. Plus, we have a feeling that Rossum and Moore are already pretty uncomfortable with some strange things happening on the “Shameless” set, given the complicated scenes and the adult content that is often featured with this show.
“Shameless” has already been renewed for its fourth season, and you will likely see it come on the air this coming January (as per the tradition) along with comedies “House of Lies” and “Californication.”
