Let’s put this first in basic terms. While the “Glee” star (currently getting set to start season 5 production next month) has yet to reveal when he actually proposed to his girlfriend of the past two years in Renee Puente, the two chose Thursday night’s White Tie and Tiara Ball in London as the place to make it official to the public. Glamorous, no? But wait … there’s more! Just in case some attendees managed to miss stunning rock on Puente’s finger, not only did Elton John (who hosted the event, which is a benefit for his AIDS prevention foundation) announce the news to the public, but he and Chris Martin of Coldplay actually performed a version of “Your Song” in the couple’s honor. If anyone is able to top being sung a celebratory engagement song by these two, we bow to you.
This is the second engagement for Morrison, who was previously engaged to soap-opera star Chrishell Stause prior to finding fame on a national stage for his role as Will Schuester. Anyone who follows the actor knew that this engagement was coming: During his promotional tour for his album “Where It All Began,” he gushed about Puente at any point that he was asked, and also reiterated that she was “the one” for him. (swoon)
Let’s hope that these two are going to enjoy the final few weeks of Matthew’s summer vacation to spend some time together; while the actor’s work as Will Schuester was not as extensive last year, “Glee” is still famous for having some pretty crazy hours.
