‘Dancing with the Stars’ contestant Chaz Bono appeared on ‘Good Morning America’ today and talked about the ongoing controversy that has been surrounding him being cast on the hit reality show.
Chaz said that he hasn’t been paying much attention to the haters and has been really just focusing on dancing and the show. He said;
“To be honest I’m not really paying that much attention to it. I’m really kinda just focused on dancing and enjoying everything that’s happening. It’s a much bigger deal to everybody else then it is to me.”
Bono also said that he feels appearing on television on a show like ‘Dancing with the Stars’ will help others and that it could really have a positive impact on someone’s life. He said;
“I’m just a regular guy and all these ideas of that children shouldn’t watch me and I’m going to be confusing and all this stuff is just, it’s crazy and for all of the kids and teens out there with gender dysphoria I think it’s going to have a really positive impact. I know that when I was growing up if I had seen somebody like me on a show like this it would’ve made all the difference in the world in my life.”
Chaz is partnered up with dance pro Lacey Schwimmer and you’ll be able to catch all the fun when ‘Dancing with the Stars’ premieres on September 19.
