NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ season 1 finale spoilers: New details, a photo, Comic-Con news

HannibalFor all of you Fannibals out there, we’re going to continue to our best to prepare you for what should be a pretty epic TV event on Thursday night: The end of “Hannibal” season 1 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. After being so nervous about the show’s renewal chances earlier in the spring, you can sit back, breathe a sigh of relief, and enjoy the fact that this is not going to be the last of Will, Hannibal, or the rest of the cast that you see on NBC. Season 2 will come next year, though there is no official word just yet as to when it will premiere. (It is not on the fall or mid-season schedule.)

We had a shorter synopsis for this episode a little earlier in the week; now, sink your teeth into the long-form version:

“When Will (Hugh Dancy) returns from Minnesota without Abigail (Kacey Rohl), Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) turns Will in, and Jack (Laurence Fishburne) and the BAU team find strong evidence of Will having killed not only Abigail, but possibly being the Copy Cat Killer. Jack and Alana (Caroline Dhavernas) begin to accept that Will is indeed capable of murder. Will is arrested, plans a desperate escape, and takes Hannibal back to Minnesota to clear his name and prove he’s being framed. But before he can, the situation takes another ugly and unexpected turn.”

The photo above is of course from this episode, and it shows Will in his terrible state, but is he going to be able to free himself? This is a question that may or may not be answered this season. Stay tuned.

On a different note, IGN has some of the first details about the show’s upcoming Comic-Con panel. The panelists in San Diego will include executive producers Bryan Fuller, David Slade, Martha De Laurentiis, and also star Hugh Dancy. This panel will be held on Thursday, July 18th at 6:45 p.m. local time.
