‘Glee’ season 5 notes: Chris Colfer, Naya Rivera, Lea Michele

Want to know how active the cast of “Glee” is right now? Well, let’s just say that not only are the actors all around the country, but some are around the world. Chris Colfer and Kevin McHale (who just celebrated his birthday on Saturday) are in Europe, most of the series regulars are in Los Angeles, and Melissa Benoist, Jacob Artist,and Becca Tobin spent a good bit of time earlier this month in the Philippines.

With this article, we just want to hand out a few brief updates on the world of “Glee” that does not involve song-and-dance numbers or filming. This is more about the light, silly moments that encapsulate what some of the show’s cast have been up to recently.

-Chris Colfer recently shared a photo on Instagram of himself getting “arrested” while at a book signing in the United Kingdom. He has been promoted not only his literary work in Europe, but also his movie “Struck by Lightning.” (Ironically, his movie had more of an advertising budget there than it did here in America.)

-Naya Rivera recently sent birthday boy McHale a text message celebrating his birthday, and it is the sort of thing that you absolutely have to read for the purposes of drawing big laughs.

-For those awaiting big announcements from Lea Michele, she’s created an account on Vine. This site is totally the rage these days, and we understand why given that you can share enough of your life (i.e. six seconds) without really giving away too much of it at all. Her first post should be coming soon.
