Vocally solid is a HUGE stretch, this has auto tune written all over it….and I highly doubt THE MAJORITY of America is going to turn their radio up to this song….its forgettable. I don’t know if you heard their cover of When I was your man, but hat was solid vocals and an incredible version….this song is so boring I have no interest in listening to it more than once

Music trends matter…I love R&B as much as anyone, but R&B simply does not cross into the mainstream as easily as it used to five years ago. For a lead single of a new POP group, this is a perfect summer anthem. This is what THE MAJORITY of America will want to turn up on their radio and catch themselves singing the hook to later in the day. The song is the way it is for the same reason that Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez and Nicki Minaj’s singles sound similar–that is the hot sound. So when they take that hot sound and make it their own with seamlessly transitioned, diverse, and layered vocals, it should be commended. The R&B will follow, but they are definitely coming out with a strong, pop friendly, and vocally solid lead single.

In reply to Jake. R&B isn't risky, it would actually be the right thing for them to do right now. There is an overload of electropop, dance, techno, etc. garbage that's been infiltrating mainstream radio. They could've used this opportunity as one of the few girl groups out there to separate themselves from the rest of the pack and come out with an R&B smash that showcases their vocals. Simon Cowell should not be guiding them. He only cares about the money.

In reply to BBJ. "Chloe" won't be going anywhere. They lost their magic as soon as Simon Cowell got his hands on them. Emblem3 would actually be killing it if they stuck with their refreshing original style. At first, they had appeal to both male and female of a wide age range. These music executives are total morons for trying to have them resort to lowest common denominator radio pop.

The only thing this song has going for it is the catchy beat….boring vocals and no harmonies….no way it reaches the top of the charts unless its the “generic pop song” chart

Meh, vocals are ok at best, upbeat and I’m sure a lot of young girls will like it. However, there is nothing about this song that’s unique, nothing. It sounds like every other pop song on the radio….absolutely no harmonies mostly each of them singing a section of the song….seems a little copy cat to me

It's one of the most popular forms of music around and some of their most watched covers were the R&B ones (Impossible, When I Was Your Man) R&B really shows off what they are capable of. It just suits them best not to mention R&B girl groups tend to have a longer shelf life than pop girl groups, generally speaking that is.

This is a really good song for the first single. It’s catchy and has a lot of production. The perfect song to use as a single to introduce themselves to the masses. I’m sure they will have R&B songs on the album for the people that like that stuff. It’s too risky to do that right now until we see how successful the first single is.

I agree with both of you actually. On one hand I think this is actually quite a great fun upbeat song quite perfect for the summer On the other hand I also think Simon should have taken these girls in a more R&B direction. Not only would it have set them apart from many of the other pop acts out there but I just feel like their vocals lend themselves more to that genre of music. Based on what the girls have said in interviews though I believe some of their other tracks have R&B touches so I hope to hear something more soulful from them. All that being said this song will definitely chart on the Hot 100. No question.
