‘Glee’ season 5: Jane Lynch, Lara Embry divorce after three-year marriage

Sue SylvesterMrs. Carter: Sad news breaking from the world of Jane Lynch.

Less than 24 hours after the “Glee” star (and host of “Hollywood Game Night”) gave a performance at the 2013 Tony Awards along with the company of the musical “Annie,” the actress has confirmed that she and wife Dr. Lara Embry are divorcing after three years of marriage. Embry was absent at the awards show, which is probably one of the reasons why speculation first started, given that she has been a frequent presence at many events featuring Lynch and her accomplishments in the past.

This news was first confirmed in a statement by Lynch, who said the following to People Magazine that sadly sounds like too many other divorce statements out there:

“Lara and I have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter.”

Lynch is not going to have a whole lot of time to try and recover from this personal devastation in the months ahead. In addition to being on theater’s biggest stage in “Annie”, she also has to promote the upcoming game show premiering on NBC next month. Finally, “Glee” season 5 will kick off production in July, and we know that we have not seen the last of Sue Sylvester just yet, even after what happened to her concerning the shooting in the spring.

Stay tuned, as we’ll have more on what happens between Lynch and Embry as it breaks. Meanwhile, you can head over to the link here if you want to read some “Glee” news that tilts a little bit more on the pleasant side of the spectrum.
