For one of the first times since being released from a treatment center last month, the “Glee” star made a public appearance on Saturday night, attending the famed Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in Los Angeles. This event is used to raise money to battle homelessness and poverty, and featured a number of big-named actors including Max Greenfield (“New Girl”), Kim Raver (“Grey’s Anatomy”), Chris Pine (“Star Trek”), and also famed director J.J. Abrams. Monteith was accompanied at the event by his longtime girlfriend Lea Michele, who has been very busy as of late in between filming a debut album, working on a book, and also appearing in a new photo shoot for a major magazine. (To think, we’re not even talking about “Glee” season 5 just yet.)
The good thing about Monteith’s situation at present is that he does have some time in which to become acclimated again to normal life following his stint in treatment. Production on season 5 will not begin until closer to the end of next month, and it’s currently unclear if he will attend Comic-Con in San Diego next month. “Glee” typically makes an appearance despite it having nothing really to do with comics or nerdy things, but there are no announced participants just yet for a panel discussion.
As for a likely “Glee” return date, expect to see some of your favorite McKinley High residents back for more adventures in mid-September. Fox once again is going to look to air the series alongside “The X Factor,” and give it a little bit of burn before the baseball playoffs.
