Rita was an idea to him. A wholesome picture to hold onto in order to cover his dark guest in feeling safe and less broken. But he never loved, loved her. Lumen though he did and not just because she knew his secret. He smiled and had passion in a way he never did before. By far the best season; backed by end of season 4. Such a let down, deflated, but big loves die hard.
