After several weeks of speculation, Tammin Sursok, best known for her role as the ill-tempered and occasionally-blind Jenna on “Pretty Little Liars,” confirmed in a post on her Twitter account earlier this week that she and her husband Sean McEwen (who she has been married to since 2011) are currently expecting their first child together, due to be born much later in the year. The two have been spotted out and about as of late, and rather than have the press stalk and harass her for information, she apparently found it better for her to confirm the big news herself.
Granted, whenever something like this hits the press, it is inevitable that there are going to be some questions that come with it. Is Tammin going to continue to be a part of the series? Is her character going to be pregnant also? The actress claims that she will continue to play Jenna, and we’re assuming given her recent love interest (who does not have the biological parts necessary to make a baby) that the pregnancy will not be written into the show. She will likely fulfill some sort of story arc this year, and the good news is that for much of what would be a maternity leave, the ABC Family drama will not be filming, anyway. This means that Tammin would be available to do more work fairly soon, and Jenna’s absence from the show would not be felt any more so than it is whenever the character disappears already for stretches of time.
Are you happy for Tammin? The new season of “Pretty Little Liars” kicks off on Tuesday night, and if you want to read a little bit more news about what to expect via Lucy Hale, you can do so over here.
