At this point, you’ve probably heard quite a bit already of the impromptu prom invite on Twitter. It’s a classic move, designed mostly to find a way to bait any given celebrity into attending their event and in return the celebrity will get good PR in the process. It’s definitely a slippery slope for any star when it comes to how to deal with the issue. If you say no without a good excuse, then you run the risk of doing something that turns a certain number of fans against you making you look “ungrateful.” If you do go then you encourage ever high school student on the planet to invite their favorite celebrity to their prom… when does it all end?
Luckily, Evelyn Lozada of “Basketball Wives” fame was cool enough to make one high school student’s dream come true. After being invited to a prom in Michigan by a high school senior, TMZ reports that not only did Evelyn accept, but she actually paid her way up, hired a driver for the night, and then made sure that her date had a pretty great time.
As for what made Evelyn especially interested in attending the event, was that she apparently was unable to attend her own prom due to her being pregnant at the time. Therefore, she saw this as an ideal opportunity to try and live out a missed opportunity of her own.
Plus, this is something nice that Lozada can talk about for a change. Much of the past several months have been filled with drama when it comes to her VH1 series, the end of her marriage to Chad Johnson, and a restraining order that was recently dropped against him.
Do you think that this was a super-cool thing for Evelyn to do or is everyday people having this kind of access to celebrities really the best thing? We want to hear your thoughts below!
