in a way hes a docter that the docter doesnt want to refer to so he just doesnt call him the docter aka 11 docters not 12 docter is what he does (heals helpsn stuff) obv this one didnt do that so hes not ment to be worthy of the name aka hes tech not a docter :P

I can’t wait for the 50th anniversary epsiode!! I have watched doctor who since i was five years old. My two favourite Doctors will always be Peter Davidson’s and and David Tennants incarnations. But i was hoping that Paul Mcganns Doctor would be in the anniversary epsiode. I think for fans it would give us a bit of closure on the 8th incarnation of the Doctor! I’m hoping that John Hurt’s Doctor is the 9th Doctor!! In the show it was said that the Time war changed the Time Lords to there very core! Maybe the 8th doctor died in a battle durning the Time war and regenerated into John Hurts Doctor. We know that the Doctor ended the Time war by destroying the Daleks and his own people (and other races not contected with the war but which could be considered civillian causualties). John Hurts incarnation said ” what i did was i did without choice…in the name of peace and sanity” to which matt smith says ” i know..but not in the name of the Doctor”

From the clothes John Hurt was wearing it looks like a mish mash of Paul mcganns Doctor and Christopher Eccestons Doctor’s clothing. Which i would think would point to the Doctor regenerating when all hope was lost. To stop the War he would have to abdonan everything he stood for! Even the Master ran away from the Time war and hid at the end of universe.

In reply to The Inspector. He isn't the 12th Doctor. He is a prior regeneration that strayed away from the promise The Doctor set for himself. Presumably he is somewhere between the 8th and 9th Doctors during The Time War.
