‘Hart of Dixie’ season 3 spoilers: Scott Porter teases future for George

Even though “Hart of Dixie” has been off the air for over a week now, the show’s recent renewal for a third season, subsequent to its move to Monday nights at the CW upfront presentation earlier this week, has led to some new opportunities to hear some scoop on just what lies ahead for the show.

Take, for example, some more words now from Scott Porter on just what the future could hold for his character of George. Speaking about the upcoming season in a chat to Just Jared, the actor alluded to the openness that comes with having Zoe not choosing to being with any guy, and the opportunities for personal growth that this does set up moving into the new year:

“I loved that there was no choosing of a side either way and that they are all going to be able to focus back on themselves an where they all stand, not only with each other but in the world … Hopefully we’ll come back next year and be a little bit more mature.”

At the end of the finale, George joined Wade in the single man’s club following the end of things with Tansy, and season 3 could serve in some ways as a reset button for the characters. Zoe will be back in Bluebell because she wants to, and George will no longer be strictly tied to his past with Lemon. While there is some baggage there between her and Wade, she may now be able to be a little less hurt in thinking about what he did to her (even if that doubt will always be there from now on).
