Simon Cowell has made it no secret as of late — he wants Mariah Carey involved in “The X Factor” in any shape or form he can. The “We Belong Together” singer was in demand earlier this year to be a judge, but Simon had to go in a different direction due to her pregnancy.
Now, Cowell seems interested in getting her to play a double duty as not only a sort of in-house mentor, but also a guest judge on the original version of the hit show overseas:
“Simon has created a unique role just for Mariah after plans for her to be in the original US judging line-up fell through.
“Four months after having her babies, Mariah is ready to get back to business; she has lost so much weight for her small screen debut.
“The idea is for Mariah to assist Simon at the judges’ houses stage of the US show, as well as helping the other judges. It has yet to be confirmed, but the other plan is for her to be given a special, one-off fifth judge role on the British show.”
Cowell and Carey already have a bit of a unique connection — Cowell serves as an executive producer on “America’s Got Talent,” which features her husband Nick Cannon as a host. (Cowell is limited on this show to an off-screen role.)
When it comes to Mariah, do you think this is definitely a case of the more, the better?
