Kristin Cavallari — good for ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and Marine Corps Ball?

She's going!

Kristin Cavallari has officially made one military man’s day in the middle of a deployment. Following a post on Twitter by a soldier named Jonathan Burkett, the former star of “The Hills” has agreed to attend his Marine Corps Ball in San Diego.

The exchange started with Burkett posting this rather simple message:

“Wanted to know if you want to go the the Marine Corps Ball with me in San Diego?! Would make a video but still deployed!”

Cavallari (who recently saw her engagement with Jay Cutler end) quickly replied that she would “love” to, and the two have reportedly worked out some details now behind the scenes.

The good news? The ball is actually happening on Thursday, November 17 — meaning that if Cavallari is a cast member on “Dancing with the Stars” (as it has been claimed) and she makes it far into the competition, she won’t have any other major commitments. (Not only is Burkett going to get a major star at his Ball — she’s also going to have some sweet dance moves.)

Asking celebrities to the Marine Corps Ball has almost become an internet meme this summer — it was started out courtesy of a soldier asking Mila Kunis, and then Justin Timberlake was also asked out. Both parties ultimately agreed to go. (Meanwhile, Betty White and Scarlett Johansson have both politely declined due to other conflicts.)

Do you think this is a great move by Cavallari to boost her image and do something nice for a soldier?
