I agree. This episode was beyond predictable. You know, when this series began, the Alan-character was somewhat more grounded and really had reason to be cheap and a leach. Remember, Charlie practically ruined his bro's divorce proceedings. But as the seasons wore on, this Alan-is-cheap bit has been run into the ground. He used to be a working leach; you saw him actually make a living. When was the last time you saw Alan work? The writers have become so lazy, his cheapness has just become a given...kinda like the GOP and Obama...they just don't like the guy. And that is my main problem with the show now. The writing has become so tired, lazy and mundane, they don't even attempt to add some depth to the Alan-character. He's just become a walking Murphy's law, just like in this episode.

He's the louse everyone loves to see screw up which does regularly. Where does he go from here? Probably out of the closet would be my guess, and frankly, I think about time. It certainly wouldn't shock anyone and if anyone remembers Charlie's former girlfriend's father played by Stacy Keach already broke the openly gay barrier on the show.
