The former “America’s Got Talent” judge was off last week when the news first broke that her and husband Ozzy Osbourne were taking some time away from each other in the wake of some new substance abuse issues for the Black Sabbath rocker, and now she is speaking out about it for the first time on her TV show. You can watch Sharon in the video below (via TMZ) get emotional talking about the issue, but she was quick to stress that most of what is being reported at the moment is over-exaggerated or completely untrue.
If you can’t watch the video for whatever reason, here is just a small snippet of what she had to say on the subject:
“He’s been using alcohol and prescription drugs for the past year and a half. That’s true. That’s very true. Everybody knows he’s been struggling with this his entire life. I never knew he was using prescription drugs. I knew he was drinking occasionally … Am I happy? No. Am I upset? Yes, I am. I’m devastated. It’s a disease that not only hurts the person who has the disease but it hurts the family.”
At the tail end of the interview, Osbourne was very quick to stress that she and Ozzy are not getting divorced, and have ultimately no plans to do so in the near future, saying that “this too shall pass.”
Osbourne has a very busy schedule these days. In addition to her gig on “The Talk” and dealing with Ozzy’s issues, she has also been the target of rumors about a potential return to the British version of “The X Factor,” which she was originally a part of a decade ago.
