Over the course of the past couple of years, there has been a rather significant producer working behind the scenes in order to make Charice Pempengco as much of a success as possible, and in many ways he has succeeded. Thanks in part to some of David Foster’s connections and support, one of the Philippines’ brightest stars has had the opportunity to perform a series of memorable concerts and record some unique collaborations.
Now that she is a star around the world, Charice has reportedly decided to move on. In a new interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Foster says that she plans on working now with new producers in order to reach a younger demographic of listeners:
“She wants to hit a younger market— that’s not my forte… She’ll be working with new producers.”
Even with this news in mind, Charice will still be a part of the upcoming “David Foster and Friends” concert to be held at the Araneta Coliseum in the country on October 25 of this year.
While Foster has done great things with Charice, do you think this is the right move for her to appeal to a different listener base moving forward?
