@Danni I know its an xfactor UK/us article but it pisses me off that the collective or Samantha jade or Reece mastin never get mentions. Yeh they haven’t released anything in the states yet but they all have decent international followings and have had great success in Australia, New zealand and a few Asian countries. Moreso than union j who haven’t even released anything yet

Yeah, Heather, it is hard to get ones head around the Carly/Syco dynamic. What is going on there? Simon did pick up her option, so she is bound to them going forward. And you never hear her camp complain, so it’s hard for her fans to complain on her behalf. Still, we do. Who knows, maybe Carly and Simon have big news in the works. Like Simon, at least, using her birthday as an excuse to announce her label and her recording schedule. After all, if not then…when? It would also be nice if she released a single (like E3) relatively soon, and announce an earlier gig to promote it…or maybe something like a guest shot on the “Ellen” show. If none of that happens, it’s gonna be a long empty wait for her fans between now and that one August night.

Carly needs to ask to be released from Syco because they haven’t done very well promoting their solo American artists. Just look at Melanie Amaro, Chris Rene, and Rachel Crow. Syco’s main concern is their boy bands, One Direction and Emblem3. Then their next concern is UK artists, then girl groups, then American solo artists. Syco promotes Fifth Harmony more than Little Mix, maybe because LM’s single didn’t fare well in the states. I think Simon is very good at marketing groups, but he has no American on his label that can sell as a solo artist. The ones that have done well on the charts are UK artists. I mean Melanie Amaro was completely forgotten about. I could’ve told Simon that she would not sell because we already have Jordin Sparks and Jennifer Hudson. Melanie doesn’t stand out in the music industry. I mean how the hell does Chris Rene and Josh Krajcik have labels and Carly doesn’t. I mean Carly would sell more records than these two. The whole age thing is a BS excuse because she’s 14 in 5 days and when she releases her album and promotes it she’ll be 15. And don’t give the “she sings ballads” excuse. Excuse me, but Carly didn’t choose her songs on the xfactor, except maybe one or two. She is capable of singing uptempo and slow songs. She’s pretty too. She’s a great role model for young girls because she never says anything bad about anyone and does a lot of charity work. She sings for sick kids and spends time with them. She does ads for anti-bullying like with the Kind campaign.

I seriously don’t understand all the hype over Union J. They are completely identical to One Direction in everything but their name. They’re boring as hell to watch when they sing and only one has a decent voice. Their debut single title is so unimaginative and the artwork is cheesy as hell. No hate intended i just don’t see anything that sets them apart and i don’t understand how they managed to score a book deal to publish their memoirs. Honestly The Collective are so much better and different to the other boybands out there today. Much edgier and cooler. Why doesn’t CarterMatt ever even mention them? You can’t say you don’t know them at all after all they have made it to the finals on Q102’s next big thing poll
