‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: Jessica Sanchez’s big performance

Jessica SanchezEarlier this weekend, we reported that for Jessica Sanchez’s grand two-episode arc on “Glee” later on this season, she will be playing the role of powerhouse singer Frida Romero, the lead of the Indianapolis Glee Club the Hoosierdaddies. Now, we’ve also learned another valuable piece of information: what she is going to be performing on the show during the season finale.

According to a report from a fan site, Sanchez will be performing with her club the song “Clarity,” a song by Zedd featuring Foxes. It’s certainly not one of the more well-known songs that “Glee” has covered since starting its run on TV, but they have been successful in helping to support new songs in the past. Just look at what they did to start “We Are Young” by fun. Down the road to greatness; they also treat to do the same thing with “This Is the New Year” by A Great Big World earlier this year, and we’re honestly a little surprised that this did not end up becoming more of a hit than it did.

This does seem like the perfect sort of song for Sanchez to sing: it fits into the dance / pop style that she is trying to establish right now in the marketplace, and in taking on a track that is relatively unknown, one of the benefits is that she does not have to look like someone covering yet another big-name song like she did for much of her time on “American Idol.”

What do you think about this song, and do you think that it could sound fantastic for Jessica on the show? If you want to watch a video preview for Thursday’s “Sweet Dreams” episode (which sadly does not feature the singer), you can do so over at the link here.
