The story about Lea Michele allegedly cutting Charice from the third season of “Glee” is quickly becoming the zombie of internet rumors — despite how many times we try to stick a fork in it, it just keeps coming back.
The latest rumor comes courtesy of the New York Post, which uses some of its own sources to claim that Lea was so intimidated by the Philippines-born sensation that she did everything in her power to keep this from happening.
Even though we said that this rumor was untrue the last time we wrote about it, we now have a harsh denial from a show spokesperson:
“This is categorically untrue. We love Charice, and she was a wonderful addition to ‘Glee’ last season … While it is true that she [Charice] appeared in fewer episodes last year than we originally anticipated, this was due to her busy schedule and the natural creative process in which some story arcs … did not materialize as planned.”
The spokesperson also defended Michele by referring to her as a “pro,” and reminded everyone that she not only worked well with Charice, but also such people as Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel.
As for why Charice is not appearing in season 3, the spokesperson really says it pretty clearly — the singer is incredibly busy. Ryan Murphy has also said that he wants to avoid casting any big-name guest stars for a while in order to focus more on the story.
Are you hoping this finally puts an end to this story?
