‘The Walking Dead’ season 4: Now with Michael Rooker and Conan O’Brien (video)

If only the storyline for “The Walking Dead” season 4 was something like this, we have a feeling that we’d be jumping for joy. Why? Apparently, in this timeline Merle Dixon has found a way to stay alive.

In the hilarious video below, you can see what happens when Michael Rooker and Melissa McBride (Carol) show up at a taping for “Conan” in Atlanta (where the zombie drama films) this week, and proceeds to get a little bit intense. Rooker is in full character as Merle, looking around and trying to take out anyone who even remotely resembles a walker. We don’t want to give away all of the humor of the clip, but let’s just say that Rooker kills one person just because their joke was not particularly funny.

Probably the best part of this whole bit, though, is the part in which we’re not sure was scripted, when “Merle” at the end takes a woman out of the audience and claims that she is coming with him. (Hopefully, she manages to survive the apocalypse for a while.)

In addition to this video, you can also see Steven Yeun (Glenn) invite Conan to come join him for a rather surprising activity. Let’s just say that this is something that we would probably not see Glenn do on the actual show thanks to his relationship with Maggie. There’s also a pretty funny anecdote about facial hair thrown in here, as to why Glenn is clean-shaven while so many other characters are scruffy.
