After falling in love on the first season of “Bachelor Pad,” we’re sad to say today that two of the show’s most-popular contestants over the course of its run have gone their separate ways. In a join statement to People Magazine, Kiptyn Locke (originally the runner-up on Jillian Harris’ season of “The Bachelorette“) and Tenley Molzahn (runner-up to Vienna Girardi on Jake Pavelka’s “The Bachelor”) had the following to say when announcing that they are no longer a couple:
“With love and respect, we decided to take a break in January. We are both focused on philanthropic and personal growth at this time, wishing each other the best. Thank you for respecting our privacy.”
Tenley and Kiptyn (who came up with the clever couples name “Kip-Ten” for their relationship) ended up going very far on “Bachelor Pad,” losing to David Cook and Natalie Getz in the finale. While they have to be rather sad about the news that they are no longer together, their relationships did actually last longer than Jake and Vienna’s combined with Jillian’s with Ed Swiderski. “Bachelor Pad” has ironically produced a good many couples despite its competitive premise: Blake Julian and Holly Durst from season 2 are now married, and Blakeley Jones was briefly engaged to her fellow season 3 contestant Tony Pieper. Sadly, “Bachelor Pad” has not been picked up for a season 4, though there are some petitions out there to save it.
Are you sad to hear the news about Tenley and Kiptyn, especially since they were one of those couples that you really wanted to root for? If you want to read some more scoop about the upcoming season of “The Bachelorette” featuring Desiree Hartsock, you can do so over at the link here.
