Although you may have to wait until 2012 to actually see Lady Gaga on “The Simpsons,” the good news is that it is happening. The “You and I” singer stopped by the show’s famous California studio earlier this week to record some lines as a “Simpsonized” version of herself, and she also explained to Entertainment Weekly what exactly it was like to go through such a unique experience:
“I make music, but I don’t do voice-overs every day of the week, and their characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humor. That’s what I was trying to focus on, not putting on a character too much and really being as sincere as I could with the lines.
“I would say this is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. My dad’s probably going to do 80 backflips when the episode comes out.”
Of course, Gaga is nowhere near the first big star to hit up Springfield as a character. Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor recorded roles during their lifetime, and just last year Katy Perry came out to play Moe’s girlfriend during a bizarre live-action stunt involving puppets.
Are you looking forward to seeing what Gaga is going to end up bringing to the show from an entertainment perspective?
