If you have been eagerly awaiting a look at “The Hunger Games” before it debuts in theaters next March, you’re in luck — the big-budget adaptation of the Suzanne Collins books will appear on TV for the first time during the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards one week from Sunday.
The clip for the movie will be introduced by star Jennifer Lawrence, who is going to be making an appearance at the awards. She will be joining the likes of other big names hitting up the broadcast, including Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Adele, and Lil Wayne. Although music is going to be the focus of the evening, MTV has never been averse to airing some sort of cross-promotion — and “The Hunger Games” are expected to help fill a void left by the end of the “Harry Potter” franchise and with “The Twilight Saga” also coming soon to an end.
Are you excited about this announcement, and is it going to actually make you watch the VMAs if you weren’t planning to already?
