Mrs Carter: A privacy lesson was well learned by Ashton… to say the least.
If anyone knows the value of privacy, it’s “Two and a Half Men” star Ashton Kutcher. The actor and his then wife were every open with the media about their relationship and had no problem flaunting it around Hollywood, but after a night out with a few ladies, Kutcher’s life and marriage with Demi Moore turned into a gigantic mess as the aforementioned “ladies” spilled all the details of their night with Ashton to everyone and anyone that would listen. Ashton (and Demi’s) lives turned into a three ring circus as every intimate detail about their lives were sprawled out on the cover of every magazine on the planet. Since then, Kutcher has been much more private with his personal life and is hoping that because of his choice to stay quiet he will be able to give his romance with Mila Kunis a fair shake.
In a new interview with Elle Magazine, Kutcher was asked about his relationship with Kunis, but he declined to talk about it saying that he wants his romance with her to be private. He said: “You know, I’ve learned the hard way how valuable privacy is and I’ve learned that there are a lot of things in your life that really benefit from being private. And relationships are one of them, and I am going to do everything in my power to have this relationship be private.”
Kutcher went on to explain that he is very wary of who he trusts these days, saying that being a celebrity makes the task of finding genuine people and relationships even harder. He said: “When you become well known, you start to have suspicions about people’s intentions that you’re becoming close with, because I think there’s been an artificial value that’s been put on fame in the world—people don’t want to do something. They just want to be famous and so I think you develop a natural suspicion of that. And, you know, I have a little bit of naïveté about trusting people — with the notion that if you share and if you give to people, they’ll respect your privacy in turn. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.”
When you’re a celebrity, the idea of privacy becomes a bit more of a fantasy then something that is an actual reality and as much as Kutcher doesn’t want to talk openly about his relationship with Kunis the media will find a way to get that information anyways since there seems to be no real protection against that kind of thing at the moment. In reality, the celebrities that talk openly about their relationships seem to be the people that are rarely in the news – likely because if a celebrity talks about their relationship all the time, it becomes less news worthy and they are left alone, but it’s completely understandable that Ashton would want to shy away from the media at this point in his life.
