‘American Idol’: Scotty McCreery, Casey Abrams help close Nasdaq

Scotty was just one contestant present.

The “American Idol” top 11 have been hitting up all sorts of venues over the course of the past couple of months, but on Monday they went somewhere rather unexpected — the stock market. A handful of select contestants (including Casey Abrams, Thia Megia, and winner Scotty McCreery) hit up Wall Street in order to help close the Nasdaq market for the day.

You can see the video at this link (thanks to Mjsbigblog for the discovery), and it shows all of the contestants having a pretty good time talking about being in their rather unique location. Paul McDonald said he was looking forward to being home, Naima Adedapo said she missed her husband and kids, while Casey Abrams simply said that he “loves” music.

The “Idol” contestants most recently performed in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and their next stop is set to be two shows in Uniondale, New York (otherwise known as the home of the Islanders).

What would you say to the country if you had the opportunity to help close the Nasdaq market?
