Mrs Carter: This wasn’t really going to last anyway, but at least Adrienne had some fun!
Adrienne Maloof has had a rough year to say the least – she split from her husband, Paul Nassif, very personal secrets about her family were exposed by a co-star on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and she has now left the hit Bravo series behind her, so when we had heard that she was hooking up with Rod Stewart’s son, Sean Stewart, we were really happy for her, because if anyone needs some fun with a hot younger man it’s Adrienne.
Now reports from US Weekly are saying that fun time is over and Adrienne and Sean have decided to go their separate ways (guess the good times couldn’t last forever). The couple, (who started dating in January of 2013) may have broken up, but they have decided to remain friends since there was no bad reason behind their break up. A source close to Maloof said: “They’ve decided to distance themselves and become friends. Nothing bad happened. They’re still going to hang out as friends, they enjoy each other’s company. They’re still really good friends and they still hang out.”
Maloof started dating Stewart just two months after her divorce to Nassif was finalized and while there were a lot of friends and fans that were supporting her choice to date a younger man, there were a lot of naysayers that just wanted to rain on her parade. To those people trying to bring her down she said: “Age is just a number. It’s about how good of a person you are . . . [Sean] is a very funny guy. He’s very giving, he mentors at the mission, works with at-risk children, and gives his time and money to get children off the streets.”
It’s funny how when men date younger women no one seems to have a problem with it, but when women date a younger man they get labels like “cougar” and people whisper behind their back. It’s likely a mix of people who are still believe this stereotype is valid and people who are jealous that they can’t land a young man of their own, but either way it’s time to stop this way of thinking, because whatever is good enough for a man is also good enough for a woman.
