We revealed on Sunday the cast list for “Survivor: South Pacific,” and one of the clear news-worthy stories was simply seeing that Russell Hantz’s nephew Brandon was a member of the cast. The guy is only 19 years old, but he certainly seems to carry himself like a much older man.
As for what the guy’s strategy is, don’t look for Brandon to be emulating the moves made by his uncle. Not only does the guy tell Entertainment Weekly that he plans on showing that there can be “loyalty” in the Hantz family, but he doesn’t even plan on acting as if he is related to Russell. (Instead, he is looking to tell everyone that his last name is “Johnson.”)
Overall, this cast seems to be the most interesting we have seen in a while — there are geeks (John), retired gay police officers (Mark-Anthony), and centerfold / football player (Mikayla), and a rancher from Utah with a crazy mustache (Rick). Add to that the fact that Ozzy and Coach are pretty much confirmed as the two returning players, and this should be interesting.
Check back soon — we will have more “Survivor” analysis leading up to the premiere on September 14.
