‘Breaking Bad’ season 5: Now imagine if this was the new theme…

Breaking BadPicture this in your head: it’s this July, and you are finally getting a chance to watch the first one of eight final “Breaking Bad” episodes. Then, a theme song comes on that makes you think that you watching “Boy Meets World” meets “Beverly Hills, 90210.”

The video below has already gone viral across the internet, and for good reason: it basically takes a super-serious drama and pairs it with a cheesy theme song out of 1995. If you never need a reason to start to feel a little bit old, watching this video (and realizing how far television has come in just the past 18 years alone) will do that to you. It’s not just funny because of the Foreigner song and the cheesy graphics, though; the editing on the video is also fantastic, and it is really pieced together to look like we are really just watching a happy-go-lucky series about a guy named Walter White, his pal Jesse, and some of the adventures that they go on.

In reality, we know the journey of the real Walt to be one that is going to end in much more sadness and pain. Pretty much no one associated with “Breaking Bad” is even remotely pretending that we are going to see a happy ending to the show, and as a matter of fact, this fake theme song may even be the last time that you get to see some of these characters smile (except for Hank, as we have a feeling that he might smile if he ends up being successful in bringing Heisenberg in).

Ultimately, what do you think about this video? If you want to see a behind-the-scenes look at “Breaking Bad” season 5 that features both Cranston along with Aaron Paul, you can do so by heading on over to the link here.
