NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 4: Shakira talks coaching style, Blake Shelton, and more

Shakira, the VoiceIf you love “The Voice,” it’s certainly understandable that you may be frustrated in many ways with having to wait. March 25 is still a while away, and the show is certainly trying a new experiment with Shakira and Usher taking the place of Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera for a season.

So will this chance pay off? Based on what we are seeing thus far, it certainly seems to. In the video below, you get a sense that Shakira really understands what the show is about: she is a passionate artist and wants to help people, but at the same time there is an awareness that this is an entertainment show, and she needs to make sure that while she looks to help artists, she also is keeping the audience engaged and even occasionally laughing. She actually fills the role in terms of comedy even more so than Aguilera did while she was on the show, and she is equally popular around the world (even more so if you just judge it based on Twitter followers alone).

So how are Adam Levine and Blake Shelton looking to help her out? Well, they’re really not going to. The two competitive guys seem more intent on making sure they have winning teams that they really don’t want to lend her a hand, and we also don’t really think that she will need it when it comes to convincing contestants to join her team. Then again, we do also have to say that Blake is probably still going to be the singers’ coach of choice given that he has consistently brought contestants very far in the show thanks to both their talent and his fanbase.

Do you think that Shakira will make for a great coach on “The Voice”? If you want to catch the name of just one person who is trying out for the show this year, you can do so by heading on over to the link here.
