I believe the writers had so many great opportunities to explore and evolve Elena’s Love for Damon into a true and amazing relationship but they blew it. And the Sire Bond, to coin a phrase from Caroline, “it has been a complete disaster”. The SB has not been a simple road block, as JP said it would be, it has been a train wreck. Only when Damon and Elena are in a complete and full relationship is when I will place my vote.
