This weekend, Disney is holding its own version of Comic-Con in the D23 Expo, which gives them the opportunity to properly show off all of their upcoming projects. At the end of the day, is there a more ambitious film for them than “The Avengers,” especially since it is a cornerstone of their new collaboration with Marvel? Probably not.
Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Star / Iron Man) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) were just two of the actors present for the movie’s presentation, and they each actually admitted that this was one of the more “challenging” projects to date. While the workload was a bit divided among all of the other actors, there was much more of a team element to he project — and everyone does have to find the right chemistry.
In addition to showing off some clips, The Hollywood Reporter also chatted with Downey and Hemsworth about a rather important question — who would actually win in a fight. For Downey, this was not exactly a difficult question to answer — in his words, Hemsworth’s character is a “deity.”
“The Avengers” will ultimately land in theaters on May 4, 2012, and also stars the likes of Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Cobie Smulders, Scarlett Johannson, and Samuel L. Jackson — who plays S.H.I.E.L.D. leader Nick Fury.
