Elena is never going to end up with anyone. This entire franchise is built on a love triangle and to settle the triangle is to admit that the franchise is over and no self respecting creative team is ever going to admit that their franchise is dead and gone and will never be revived. Especially a franchise that has very successful book series alongside the television show.

Just look at Buffy. The Whedonverse has been off the air for 9 years and even though there’s no book series, the official in-canon comics are *still* stringing the Spuffys and the Bangels along.

Now I much prefer Delena, but then Stelena represents innocent high school infatuation and I find that extremely boring. But I know the show will never provide me with a Delena ending so I’m going to settle fro all the little wonderful moments they give me along the way.
