It’s going to be a little while longer before we see the next “Iron Man” solo film hit the big screen. Thanks in part to “The Avengers” premiering in May of next, year, it will not be until May 2013 that we see Tony Stark back on his own, and taking out whatever sort of new villain happens to come his way.
However, that does not mean that Robert Downey Jr. is staying quiet on this project in the slightest. Speaking in a new interview, the actor (who found his own career launched into superstardom thanks to this movie) promised that this movie was going to be taken up yet another notch:
“My sense of it is that we need to leave it all on the field — whatever that means in the end. You can pick several different points of departure for that.”
“Iron Man 3” is going to be a major risk from many standpoints — it will be the first movie after the Avengers have been together, and it also will mark the first “Iron Man” solo film without Jon Favreau at the helm. Instead, this time we will be seeing director Shane Black (who worked with Downey on the 2005 film “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”) in charge of the project.
Do you think that following some lukewarm reviews to “Iron Man 2” that Tony Stark can get back on track?
