Ridley Scott is apparently not afraid of taking on what may very well be a gargantuan task — creating a follow-up worthy to one of the most-popular science fiction films of all time.
Multiple sources have confirmed that Scott will return to create a “follow-up” to the 1982 classic “Blade Runner,” but there is no word as of yet as to whether or not this will be a sequel or a prequel to the original movie.
Since it has been nearly three decades since the original, there are all sorts of questions about how this will work — and if this is the sort of franchise you really want to even tough again. The last few times we saw a franchise revived after decades off, we received in turn the “Star Wars” prequels, “Tron: Legacy,” and “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” and (none of which were able to capture the magic of the original films).
Do you think we really need another “Blade Runner” movie, and does having Scott on board give you some hope?
