“The Voice” has become an international phenomenon — and so has Adam Lambert. In a recent episode of Bulgaria’s version of the popular show (which was originally introduced in Holland), a pair of contestants performed the singer’s recent international hit “Sleepwalker” during the battle rounds.
It’s always interesting to see how people around the world interpret Adam’s lyrics, and one of the most fascinating parts about this performance was how both the contestants actually tried to work in some of Adam’s personal aesthetic (including the eyeliner).
“Sleepwalker” was released as a single from “For Your Entertainment” in a number of other countries (including Canada), but was never sent to radio in the United States. It’s unfortunate, particularly since it seems to be having an impact in Europe.
This is the second time we have heard a “Voice” performer cover Adam Lambert — Nakia took on “Whataya Want From Me” during the semifinals in America, which led Adam Levine to say something that had more than a few people upset.
What do you think of this cover, especially since it is coming from two people who clearly do cannot count English as their first language?
