An American here, enjoying the spoilers which will never stop me from watching!
I want Tom to grow into his place on the estate and within the family, but I don't want to see him lose his passion for Ireland and the "cause." Mary drives me up a wall. When Tom has recovered from his grief, I hope he takes her on and opens her eyes beyond the gilt edged frames of her narrow little world. She has way too much of her fathers rigidity. Saying that...it might be fun to watch them fight their way toward each other.

I don't think that you should kill Matthew off. We are all in shock over Cybill already! A few ideas would be to bring a handsome new Matthew to replace him. Or bring an American from the Mid-West. Robert told Mary to bring a man like this shake things up! Or bring a goregous much younger uncle from America who is Cora's much younger brother to entertain us. He could bring interesting friends. Why must all the characters be English? How about an Italian who can sing? or a talented musician? You should also bring on a beautiful female cousin to distract us from missing Cybill so much. Branson should fall in love with the wet nurse and give the baby a mother. Just please don't return us to Downton with all this grief. We watch Downton to see beautiful sets, clothing, gallas, jewelry and hairdos. Don't let us watch Mary grieve a husband and sister, Cora and Robert a daughter and Isabella her only son. Bring us pleasant events. What about bringing on Collin Firth as the cousin who went missing after the Titanic. Or Kiera Knightly as friend of Mary's. Soap operas always replace people without killing everyone off! Let Grand-mama have wonderful new quips to say, so we laugh at such dry humor. Let Robert say, " You've cheered us up no end, Ma-ma." again. But don't let us watch Mary alone with a baby, Branson alone with a baby and all the cast downstairs and upstairs so sad. And Shirley McLaine was great. It was her clothing and part (purpose) that made her misplaced! We want " light and happy" It's too, too much reality for a Sunday Night!!!
