Enjoyed the interview! Thanks for posting the link. Nice to hear your voice after following your tweets for over a year now.
I was interested in your thoughts about The Voice. I’d add my opinion that the judges performed too often on the show, and their group numbers did not sound good at all. While I realize that the judges want to showcase themselves, I think I’d like a little more emphasis on the contestants. I liked the contestant/judge duets, even though, yes, it would be difficult to sing with Christina unless she deferred to her contestant. I loved Dia and Blake Shelton (I know you said you didn’t) — I bonded with Dia after Heartless, but, yes, more weeks of contestants’ singing would help build that fan base and interest in the show. Idol is grueling in its length, but it gives us time to become fanantics, as we did with Adam!
I was so turned off of Idol this year with their treatment of Haley, that I’m not sure I’m going to watch next year, especially with Randy still there. But, who knows – I usually end up watching and getting invested in a contestant (: Thanks again, Carter!

I loved the interview and all the great information from you!! I could listen to you for hours! It is so nice to know that the great love, passion and energy that I feel in your writing comes across in person. I love your articles and I’m so excited that you have your own website.
Thank you for the your great description of the difference between Adam Lambert fans and other fan bases. So refreshing!! And I SO enjoyed hearing acoustic Mad World–kind of a perfect finale. Great choice! ( even though it wasn’t your first–it was perfect)

This was a good interview and enjoyed your opinions of the dif shows. One Q I have is what did you think of the format and contestants from this years Idol show? I thought they were to ot and the emphasis was not on singing (for most) as it was about showing theatrics. I love a theatrical performance ( Adam Lambert) but I want the vocals to support it, and I didnt see/hear that this year. My fav girl was Haley, fav guy Stephano. Your thoughts?
