Mrs Carter: The bigger, the better for Sofia.
On “Modern Family”, Sofia Vergara’s character of Gloria is already married with a second baby on the way (probably giving birth on the show very soon after it returns), but in real life the recently engaged actress is still in the wedding planning stages of her wedding to fiance Nick Loeb. In a new interview with People magazine the actress said that she never goes small when it comes to celebrations, and her wedding will be no exception. In fact for her 40th birthday party she had over 100 people attend the festivities in Mexico.
When you want to have a big extravagant wedding like Sofia wants, it takes time to get all of your ducks in a row, and with her busy schedule it’s unclear how much free time Vergara has for planning the wedding at the moment. She said: “Now I don’t have the time – and it will have to be one weekend when I have the time to plan something fun. I don’t even know what I’m going to do.”
One thing Vergara knows she doesn’t want is her wedding to be overly traditional, she is hoping for more of a big party type celebration – so long winded speeches about how amazing Sofia and Nick are will likely be cut out of the festivities (they know how great they are already). She said: “We don’t do that type of tradition. [Nick and I want] more like of a party [with] music, dancing, a lot of food; not really sitting there hours and giving speeches.”
Some weddings can feel very long and drawn out when they go the traditional route, so having a wedding that focuses more on fun and making sure your guests are having a good time is something that we wish more brides and grooms would focus on. After going to several humongous overly traditional weddings where we didn’t even see the bride and groom all night, we have a deep appreciation for the couples that put that extra effort into their guests, because really weddings are a celebration for everyone, so everyone should be having fun.
