Mike, and exactly how much money does the boomer generation spend compared to the teens and young adults. In the end, thats where it will ultimately matter. The dollars just are not there to matter for a Tate Stevens country singer.

I believe Carly is way better than Tate. He is average but that little girl can sing. She belongs up there with Celine Dion. Tate won because his friends probably voted the 150 times each. Plus they felt sorry because of his age and yes, his story.

You are right, Alice, about some of the previous winners not going far or for very long. And you are probably right about Carly getting all those views on You Tube. However, most of us in the baby boom generation (and we are the largest demographic group at this time) don’t go in for You Tube, Twitter, FaceBook, and all that other ultra modern stuff that the younger people do. Tate’s got a huge following among us middle-aged and older folks but we still communicate that stuff the old-fashioned way. Tate will go far. And so will Carly. Each has their own style of music and each has their own following. Anyway, I’m done reading this blog. I only stumbled upon it accidentally while researching something else. I have better things to do than to waste time on the internet. Happy New Year everyone! Maybe I’ll see you at a Tate Stevens concert sometime.

I beg to differ with mike, Carly has had by FAR the most YouTube views and I live in nz and know a lot of people who love Carly which I think shows how many people in other countries like her better than tate. Also when you think about it Tate is good at country music but when you think of how many other people are good at it too it is quite a different story. I think Carly will go far. Also if you look at the xfactor other seasons most winners aren’t even heard about in a few years.

Stop arguing whether about who should have won X Factor and who is better. As Simon Cowell said in an interview before the 2012 season began airing, when asked “What is the x factor?” the first thing he said was “timing”. He said something like, “Lady Gaga, five years ago might not have worked, but now, she is the biggest thing” (not exact wording but you get the drift)

I totally agree to what he said. Sometimes these things are just a matter timing, being at the right place at the right time, having certain fellow competitors, etc. 2012 was Tate’s year and just get used to that idea. I’m sure when Carly’s time comes she will deservingly reap in all the the benefits deservingly.

Carly and Tate are very good singers. It just depends on what kind of music that you like as to which one you choose. I think the first time Tate sang, the audience was behind him. You also have to appreciate the fact that he raised his family first. Good luck Carly and Tate
