Do you really want to know why Chord Overstreet decided to walk away from “Glee” after two seasons? If so, be ready to be racking your brain over this one for quite a while.
In a new interview with E! News, executive producer Dante DiLoreto would not go into details about why Sam will no longer be at McKinley High — but was at least king enough to offer up some words about Chord’s character:
“[Chord] is leaving for reasons that him and I know. He’s pursuing other opportunities and we really wish him well. He’s a lovely guy and we were so lucky to have him on the show. He contributed great things to it. We’re excited to see what opportunities lie ahead for him, and what interesting characters are going to come in and fill his role on the show.”
In addition, the same interview has some more details about the potential spin-off set in New York after this season ends. While the entire idea of the show is now being put on hold thanks to an order from Ryan Murphy, Chris Colfer is at least saying now that he is excited about it (which is a nice change-up from a past interview where he was led into saying he found out he was “fired” over the internet):
“Yes, I think it’d be a lot of fun. I’m very much looking forward to hearing what happens with that. I love Kurt more than myself sometimes. I would love to be with him and see where he goes and see what happens to him in the future.”
Kurt also joked that if Blaine ends up following him to New York, the two could even get married! (Aww….)
