It’s been a couple of weeks since we’ve had any airplay numbers to share when it comes to Adam Lambert, and one of the reasons behind it simply due to familiarity — not much is changing when we look from one week to the next, and that largely has to do with the fact that “Whataya Want From Me” has become such a steady hit 18 months after its release that the spin count does not tent to fluctuate much.
Take for instance the new numbers (which were discovered this time by USA Today). “Whataya Want From Me” totaled 1,648 spins in the past week — and that is just a decrease of 34 spins from where the song was at two weeks ago. Airplay is going to inevitably drop slowly over time, but for this song the slow steadiness of the decline is welcome in that the spins should carry over well into the radio release for Adam’s upcoming single (whenever that may be this coming fall).
What is next for Adam merely seems to be more recording and album preparation at the moment. RCA is keeping a pretty tight lid on what to expect, though as we near the big unveiling expect to see more in the way of interviews and press.
What sort of hit are you hoping for when it comes to Adam’s next single?
