Remember when Robert Pattinson gave an interview on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” earlier this year? In the chat, the “Twilight” star (who was there to promote his new movie “Cosmopolis”) was consoled by the comedian, handed a pint of ice cream to eat, and he took advice from the man about relationships, being young, and life in general. The interview was ultimately one of the reasons why Stewart is the excellent interviewer that he is: without ever even bringing up Kristen directly or prodding Robert about her cheating with “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders, it was still abundantly clear just what was going on and who was being talked about.
So when Kristen stopped by Stewart’s show this week, you almost expected it to be at least somewhat interesting … right? Well, it was actually rather ho-hum if we are being honest about. The frequently-shy Stewart mostly stuck to conversation about her new movie “On the Road” while also explaining (albeit vaguely) what it was like growing up on film sets, and how she managed to get an education even while working. (Stewart did get her to laugh on a few occasions, including a joke about how someone asking Kristen to “prom” was really just trying to get her down in their basement.)
The one thing that was nice to see here was that Stewart actually seemed to be a fan of Stewart’s show, as she commented as to how cool it was to be sitting at his desk. (This is not something that she does with other talk-show appearances.)
